"A last little piece of Key West". Located on the Historic Seaport. Live, nightly entertainment. Food, drinks & fun. 3 Happy Hours Daily!
"Schooner Wharf is a slice of Key West before million-dollar condos began sprouting up like kudzu.... it's as funky as a pair of well-worn flips and every bit as comfortable, just a ramshackle open-sided bar, small stage and umbrella-covered tables set on a gravel patio. The menu is identical to those of dozens of other Keys dives.... The difference is the Schooner does them better. The oysters and shrimp are impeccably fresh, the chowder flavorful and spicy, and the fritters are actually worth eating. The mojo-marinated fish sandwich is great." ~ Miami Herald, August 14, 2005

This place is Key West. Chill. Relaxed. Laid back. Great food. Mellow people. Fantastic live music. Come on man, is there anything better? I doubt it. The fish soft tacos were fresh and amazing. I was shocked at how good they were. It is that terrific blend of awesome and dive bar that should be aspired to in Key West. Pretty much all of the sitting is on crushed shells. The men's room is located a walk down down a hall, past the ice machine, turn left at the end, walk past crates of some stuff and turn left into a circa 1960's closet sized area with two urinals and a toilet. No door. The sink is basically a wahsbasin in the hallway. LOVE IT! And that is because it is genuine. Not the contrived b.s. of a Fridays where the stuff on the walls are prepackaged. No. This place is now the accumulation of decades of drinking, eating and enjoying life.
